Dr. Jolly’s was founded by two brothers. The younger brother, known as “Jolly”, is a talented and experienced cultivator and purveyor of fine herbs. As a patient and a grower, Jolly has been cultivating medical cannabis for patients in the local Bend area since 2007. He is an energetic, charismatic, hard-working farmer who takes great pride in his craft. The older brother, known as “Doctor”, is a former science journal editor and a materials engineer. He came to Bend in 2013 to join with his brother to create the brand, “Dr. Jolly’s.”
After dutifully harvesting and trimming flower, it is graded and readied for market. Anything less than A-grade tops is sent to the processing lab for extraction. A large majority of flower cultivated at the farm is grown for processing. Dr. Jolly’s specializes in high-terpene live resins, shatters and Diamond production.
Did you know? Diamonds are considered a connoisseur grade product. Diamonds are derived from fresh frozen plant or whole buds, rather than trim. To create these crystals, Producers extract material then introduce them to a specialized pressurized chamber, where a separation occurs between Cannabinoids and Terpenes. Terpenes rise to the top and Cannabinoids crystals form at the bottom of the chamber.
Dr. Jolly’s has provided the marketplace with a hydrocarbon derived version of edible Cannabis oil which is also known as FECO (Full-Extract Cannabis oil) or RSO (Rick Simpson Oil). Most edible cannabis oils are processed with ethanol as the solvent, this yields the very recognizable black terry cannabis oils. Hydrocarbon derived cannabis oils are generally lighter in color and thicker in consistency. Having less plant matter, chlorophyll and other compounds, the cannabinoid content on these oils can be much higher.
Fractionated coconut oil or MCT tinctures are also created by the Dr. Jolly’s team. There are several varities that can be found in Oregon, High-CBD, High-THC, Indica, Sativa and Hybrid as well as a few mixed ration concoctions. Look for thier blue UV resistant bottles with the bright orange label when you are perusing tinctures.
Dr. Jolly’s has partnered Kind Leaf to be the exclusive provider of their boutique quality and connoisseur grade products in Pendleton, Oregon. An award winning budtender is a person who recreates and redefines the public perception of someone who works in a dispensary or store where medical or recreational cannabis is sold. Helping provide a perspective that these knowledgeable individuals are not just “Drug Dealers.”
Increasingly, this subculture is evolving into a group of educated professionals who have developed their unique blend of personality, style, fashion, and most importantly, their recommendations to an constantly growing and changing variety of cannabis offerings. Budtenders are educators, advisors, sales professionals and often a trusted resource or friend to their customers.
Without Budtenders, Cannabis brands do not succeed, the customers are left unaware of what makes each product and brand different from the one resting next to it on the shelf. Budtenders are one of the most important factors in public relations between communities, dispensaries and the cannabis industry as a whole.
The 2019 Budtender Awards honored these individuals, promoted their efforts and acknowledged their influence on the industry, and in the communities they serve.
Congratulations to LaRain Miller, Kind Leaf for bringing home an award, for yourself, your team, your community and Oregon!
Happy Cabbage farms introduced a higher level on Rosin method extracts to the Oregon Market. Setting the standard higher for bubble hash derived Rosin pressed extracts, Happy Cabbage extract artists craft delicious cannabis extracts from flower cultivated by both themselves and other award winning Oregon cannabis farms.
First- What is Rosin?
“Rosin” refers to a Cannabis extraction process that utilizes a combination of heat and high pressure, instead of volatile solvents, to break open trichome and squeeze resinous sap from your cannabis flower or Hash. The result is a golden, even clear, sappy or sometimes shatter-like product. If produced with proper methodology, Cannabis rosin can compete directly with the flavor, potency, and yield of other solvent-based extraction products.
Many people prefer quality rosin products over more commonly found Butane and Propane solvent extracted cannabis products. This preference comes from both non-solvent adulteration being lower in risk regarding residual solvents, as well as the ability of the Rosin method to capture rare plant essences that are often lost with the introduction of volatile solvents.
Happy Cabbage farms is a craft small-batch producer with an affinity for purity and flavor. Recently their work has been isolating extracts from strains like Tropicanna Cookies, Thug Life, Punch Breath, Purple Petals many of which are currently on the shelves at Kind Leaf in Pendleton, Oregon.
Happy Cabbage practices reservation concerning which dispensaries carry their brand. Seeking to partner with companies that put their customers and communities first, who care about quality and have the ability to represent their products for what they are.
