Belushi Farm’s Captain Jack’s Carts Now at Kind Leaf

Captain Jack is an old-school cannabis cultivating legend. He has inspired comedians at Saturday Night Live, helping Dan Aykroyd provide the world with laughs with famous skits like the Coneheads. If you are in beautiful Pendleton, Oregon, you can find Captain Jack’s cartridges only at Kind Leaf, Eastern Oregon’s premier craft cannabis boutique.

Captain Jack himself had this to say on Instagram: “If you want to travel 🚲✈️⛵️🚗 to Pendleton Oregon you can get an early taste of my historic Gulzar Afghanica!!!”
Fellow cannabis legend Steve DeAngelo replied: “Go now if u can. If I was anywhere close to Kind Leaf in Pendleton I’d be blazing my way there at top velocity. Captain Jack is the real deal and I can’t wait to taste that Gulzar!”

Belushi Farms provides some background on the iconic guerilla grower:

Jack spent the summers of 1971 and ‘72 making trips to a remote village in the Northeast region of Afghanistan, outside of Mazar-i-Sharif, past the Hindu Kush mountain range. There, he slowly endeared himself to the village elders by working alongside them in the fields, growing and harvesting a magical plant called Gulzar Afghanica, or “Garden of Afghanica.”

By the close of the second summer, Jack had gained the respect of the elders and they honored him with a handkerchief full of special seeds, knowing he was spiritually connected to this precious varietal.

Captain Jack quickly set out to grow his own Gulzar Afghanica.

From Mashable:

DAN AYKROYD: Captain Jack brought that original strain from Afghanistan, and it kept you up, you know. You could fly an F-16 on it, or judge a murder trial. It was just beautiful, stimulating Indica that he brought back. Sometimes the hallways would smell, the very pungent smell of it. It was just what we needed to stay at it through 3, 4, 5 in the morning.Captain Jack brought that original strain from Afghanistan, and it kept you up, you know. JIM BELUSHI: Those hallways were filled with it. That’s why they called it “the smell of SNL.” I mean, where do you think the Coneheads and stuff like that came from?
